Is it possible to programmatically dim a section of the MacBook screen?
I have a hardware problem - the dot on the screen is overexposed, too bright. If I could programmatically set what this point is - be darker in brightness - this would solve the problem.
If there is a black background under this point, then the glow disappears. If there is a gray background under it, the problem disappears by half. The color changes. That is, everything is OK with her, but too bright in that place.

It is impossible if your matrix is not AMOLED. For IPS, TN and other matrices, the screen is backlit using one common element - a luminous plate, roughly speaking. In AMOLED, each pixel has its own backlight, independent of other pixels.
