Is it possible to programmatically click active application buttons in Android?

Is it possible to write an Android application that would programmatically press the buttons of the active application (third party)? At the same time, the buttons of this application are not fixed in a certain part of the screen, but can move up / down, depending on the amount of textual information.

Yes, you can.
Google accessibility settings if not rooted.
With root, there are other ways.
From the discussion nearby: There are
such Trojans, for example Android.GPLoader.1.origin
Calmly opens Google Play itself, buys applications there and downloads them to the phone without the user's knowledge (of course, if he is not looking at the screen at that moment)

@riky

if it were possible, they would do trojans that open your mobile banking and transfer money, along the way taking the confirmation code from SMS.
In normal mode, this is not the case, the only question is whether it is possible in root mode.
