Is it possible to not upload a project in phpstorm?

Such a thing. I add a new ftp project. After adding it, it starts downloading it to my disk. Is it possible to work without pumping? In the sense that only the used file should be downloaded

You can connect to the project (remote server) Deployment - create an FTP connection - Remote Host connect, and right-click on the file you want to edit Edit Remote File directly on the server.
but it is not recommended to do this, because you can screw up the site

first create an empty project without ftp, then go to Remote Hosts and select a server there, then nothing will be downloaded automatically
