Is it possible to migrate macOS Mojave from case sensitive to NOT case sensitive via TM?

Foolishly at one time, when installing makosi, I put case Sensitive. Now I realized, and I want to go mainstream to normal people. The previous experience on some of the old variants of makosi was unsuccessful, and it was not possible to fully recover. Is this possible in modern realities, incl. when migrating to newer versions, such as Catalina.
