Is it possible to migrate (clone) Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to a new SSD?

Tried through copying, gives different prohibitions.
On the forums:
1. dd
2. clonezilla
3. grub
But all the topics are old (the feeling that their authors were active, and then just ... disappeared). Fresher than 2012, I haven’t seen anything worthwhile. Note : Compaq Presario CQ61
. I know it's old, but there's no other.
Problem : the methods described above from 2008-2012 release about different xbuntu and other mints. In different topics, the authors sneered at each other's ways.
Question : is there an actual way? Or is it easier to save valuable looted archives and reinstall Ubuntu on a new SSD, and just upload the information from above?
PSI'm with linux 0.5 years and in the evening (when I try to pose as a coder).

Copying, of course, is not an option, but all sorts of dd / clonezilla / etc. will never lose their relevance. But if the new disk is larger, or vice versa, smaller, it's easier to reinstall the system and copy the necessary user files to the new disk.

We collect the tarball on the model of gentoo stage4, deploy it on a new medium, turn around, install grub.
Everything is done in five teams without any clonezil.

clonezilla is awesome, although old, but it works super, unlike other such applications .... it never let me down, and the functionality is normal

Usually, just reinstalling the bootloader and copying files to new partitions is enough, and tweaking fstab

you can use lvm to move, unless, of course, the system is installed on lvm.
