Is it possible to make email with github.io domain?

Let's say I have a nickname on the github example and there is a site on the example.github.io domain.
Can I create a mail [email protected]? And if so, how?

To create mail on a domain, you need access to the dns records of the domain. Which I don't think you have.
Alternatively, you can link your domain on github and set up mail on it
