Is it possible to make an animated route in google maps?

I need to make an animated line along a route. Something I google and not google. :) Is it real at all? Then in all examples the line is added in fragments, i.e. inserted just a piece without animation. Or examples with only markers.. And I just need to make a line from and to... Is this even real?

1) make an animated svg on a normal picture
2) fix the map and layer on top of the animated svg
