Is it possible to make a desktop browser application that takes data from a nearby smartphone?

In other words, will such a bunch work:
* The basis of the browser application (on the desktop) is pulled from the site (HTML, JS)
* An iPhone with an application that provides a REST API to access some critical data is available nearby in the same WiFi network
* Browser application knocks through the REST API to the mobile application, takes the data and shows them
Everything seems to work, or is something not taken into account?

Well, the big question is how to determine the host.
And the second question is whether the aios port will open - I have not tried this topic.
