You need to install two versions of sql 2008 and sql 2012 on the same machine. Is this possible or will there be conflicts?

Name them different instances during installation and set the explicit value of allocated RAM in the settings.

Поддерживаю предыдущего эксперта. Дополню: нужно будет произвести разумный тюнинг по памяти обеих СУБД, чтобы им хватило памяти для работы... Либо запускать их поочередно (одна работает, вторая остановлена!)
