Is it possible to install a softphone on a thin client?

There are 15-25 diskless stations. I am currently considering two OS options for booting over the network, I have n’t worked with both yet:
Windows Embedded
GNU thinstation
What I need from the station:
RDP
softphone operation directly on the station
stations? Which to choose? How to setup? There are practically no descriptions for such a task on the net.
