Is it possible to hold the hosting accountable for data loss?

The client, without suspecting anything, switched to a different tariff from the hoster, as a result of which
the site database was demolished.
I'm interested in the question - can the hoster be held liable, does he bear any responsibility in this case?

Depends on the contract. Show it to a lawyer.

If it is written in the contract - bears. If not, it doesn't. As a rule, it is not spelled out - that is, the hoster gives you a site, and you yourself, as you can, work.

Many people think that by placing a site on a hosting they deceived everyone :) No, the safety of your data is the safety of YOUR data...

Most likely, even if he is responsible, then within the limits of the payment received. The game is not worth the candle. You can only beg for some goodies, such as extending hosting for free for two or three months, etc.

It is impossible, the hoster will not sign a bonded contract.
And of course, the question of the value of data arises: if there were no backups, then they are worth nothing.
