Is it possible to fully manage WSUS through powershell?
- Win Srv 2012 R2 Std
- Roles: WSUS
- Features: .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.5 (without 3.5, I didn't want to add AWPs to subgroups)
Actually, everything was set up, as in a textbook. Difficulties were only with adding machines through GPO, but these are the subtleties of the domain. Now all workstations have been added and divided into subgroups. I must say right away that this is my first experience with WSUS.
For starters, the Update Service tool is constantly falling off, most likely due to the volume of updates that need to be displayed when requested.
But it's okay, through IIS Mng. I pick up and continue to work.
The question is different. Updates have accumulated a little more than 2500 pieces, I decided for the sake of the experiment for-Approved all at once. I chose the all-right Approved button, it seems that the procedure was successful, and even the workstations of the test subgroup received updates. BUT! Some of them receive information about the need to update, but the download of the update from the WSUS server does not start.
And the "UPDATES" section itself shows that there are still more than 2500 updates not approved. This despite the fact that there is even a checkmark "approve automatically"
In general, is it possible to configure WSUS through the shell, does it seem to me that it will be more efficient? In general, if there are high-quality sources of a manual on WSUS, give a link, or briefly tell us which way to dig. Thank you all in advance.
