Is it possible to extract a file from a zip archive over SMB?

There is a server on which gigabyte zip archives lie.
Access to the server only via SMB.
I need to extract one file from an archive on this server.
Is there a way to extract this file without downloading the entire gigabyte archive to myself?

I think it's possible. Provided that SMB will be mounted as a local file system. Then any archiver can read the archive directory and select any files to extract.
