Is it possible to expand the list of supported Canon EOS Webcam Utility cameras?

Canon releases a library for working with their SLR cameras called EDSDK.
There are several versions of this library. As far as I understand, the EOS Webcam Utility solution (turns a DSLR into a webcam) is based on it. But unfortunately my 550d camera is not in the supported list. That being said, EDSDK works great with my camera. I tried the option of replacing the library with the file that I already had earlier, and with which another program worked with my camera. Did not help. Here I sit, thinking in which direction to continue the research.
