Is it possible to encrypt the hard drive on the main PC from VirtualBox?

Virtualbox is installed on a remote server, the other day I decided to install linux. During installation, the operating system offered to encrypt the hard drive allocated for it before installation, I thought "yes, do what you want, you're not real, like all of us in this world," I clicked "yes." As a result, this process proceeded quite slowly and an inscription loomed that encryption can be canceled at any time by clicking on "cancel", but then the files will not be encrypted securely (well, something like that, I don’t remember verbatim)
, as a result, I left it for an hour, while turning off. connecting an hour later, I saw that the virtual machine hung at half load, I thought "I won't interfere, let it install" again turned off for about 20 minutes ...
I connect and hang not only the virtual machine - the server has a blue screen instead of the desktop, only the ctrl-alt-del menu responded, after 2-3 minutes rdp lost contact with the server and has not responded for about 2 hours. The server is in another city and there is no one to check it yet.
the Internet has not exactly fallen because the router to which servth is connected responds and I can connect via VPN. the server is not responding.
Could the OS have been encrypted or corrupted when installing the virtual machine?
in the vb settings, I did not change anything, except that I closed access to the shared folder.

In theory, no, if the physical disks have not been hacked. Have you created a virtual disk?
The server could overheat or VB ate all the resources.

Unlikely.
In general, there are two golden rules:
1. Do not configure the firewall remotely
2. Do not twist something on the server without KVM
Both rules lead to a long journey :)
