Is it possible to edit files, create folders in Ubuntu using Winscp + Notepad? Or is it all through the console and nano? It's just more familiar to me, I have little experience with the console.

Of course you can.
There is no Notepad for ubunut, but it can be more than replaced by Sublime Text 3 .
WinSCP can replace FileZilla.
Both programs are in the repositories, so installation is easier than on Windows.
