Is it possible to develop applications for windows phone 8 on windows 7?

I now have win 7 installed as the main axis. And I would not like to install an additional axis for development. Is it possible to write under win phone 8 on win 7 without resorting to virtual machines and installing a new OS?

Officially - no.
Here you can see how to install sdk 8 on windows 7, but I don’t know if it will be possible to develop normally after that.

You can if you develop under windows phone sdk 7.1 www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27570. These applications run on Windows phone 8 But not all features will be available in sdk 8

It is possible to develop on WPF, but I myself have not tried to install a WPF application on Win Phone
