Is it possible to debug avr microcontrollers under ubuntu? Asm language, not C. Those controllers that don't support jtag?

perhaps with gdb. I tried the eclipse plugin. But the convenience of debugging is absolutely terrible. Therefore, I installed XP with AVRStudio in VirtualBox, where debugging is much better. And for "iron" debugging with more data bound to the schema itself, it is much better to use Proteus.
