Is it possible to customize sorting in catalog.section?

There is a catalog.section component that collects all the data the way I need.
The question is the following:
Is it possible in some way and is it possible at all to set up sorting by: the
number of goods sold,
the last viewed goods?

If possible, what is the best way to do this?

1) To sort by the number of sold goods, it is better to do this:
Create for goods an additional field of the number type with a default value of 0
Update this value when selling goods
In the component settings, select another and specify sorting by property (property_PROPERTY_CODE).
2) Sorting by last viewed products is not very clear. Need to display the last viewed products? If so, then it's easier to use the catalog.products.viewed component.
