Is it possible to create a "tree" of virtual machines?

Good day!
Is it possible in any of the existing virtualization systems to create a "tree" of virtual machines? Those. there is a virtual "root" (not a host!) machine, for example Win7, 2-20-... virtual machines with the same Win7 are "spun off" from it, but each has its own set of software. Changes to buds do not affect either the root machine or neighboring machines, a change to the root applies to all buds.
Thank you!

Can.
Changing "buds" does not affect either the root or neighboring machines,
And there is.
the root change applies to all buds.
No, changes to any OS, including the root one, apply only to itself, and to no one else.

VirtualBox allows you to create an "incremental" machine, like a diff to a base machine. I used this as an opportunity to install/demolish (together with the 2nd order OS) some kind of malicious (in the sense of shitting into the system) software.
