Is it possible to create a reference to an object in PS?

I created a square, propagated it "in some way" and with a further change in the source, all its clones or symbolic objects change, I don't know how it can be called correctly. Is there such a possibility in ps and if so, what is the correct name for it in order to google the lessons?

Exist. smart object. On the RMB layer - convert to smart object. To edit - then just double-click on the smart layer, it will open as a new file, after saving - the changes will be applied everywhere. And read about copying separately ...
