Is it possible to connect an external Wi-Fi receiver with a built-in receiver on a laptop?
I have a HP 5556 probe from 2012, the built-in receiver does not receive a signal well, even if it is next to the distributor. I want to buy an external USB Link WiFi. But not sure if it will work.

For tubes (without being tied to HP), the case is usually easily collapsible, especially in a 12-year-old laptop.
Can you replace the built-in one? The main thing is to find a list of compatible ones. (I don't know if HP had a whitelist for wlan adapters back then.)
