Is it possible to compile a program from source for ARM on Linux?

Hello, I want to ask a question. Will I be able to take the IceCat Browser sources on an ARM machine (RPI, for example) and build a package (at least .deb, at least .appimage), and if so, will I receive updates of the same browser?

@mc_cake_studio

you can compile anything
updates will arrive except for plugins, and the browser itself will have to be recompiled each time if you want to update it to a new version
, but you can just install a distribution kit that has arm support + your program is already in supported packages (repositories)
for example this one same NixOS
NixOS on ARM/Raspberry Pi
NixOS packages icecat (+aarch64)

You can do it in a couple of days, but where will the updates come from?

Collect is possible. But if there is no ready-made assembly on the manufacturer's website, then there will be no updates; it will be necessary to take updates of the sources and compile / compile again.
