Is it possible to combine a (real, separate) laptop and tablet into one machine, and if so, how?

Not long ago I thought, is it possible to make these two devices work as one machine? That is, computing power is summed up, the execution of processes is divided into both devices, etc., and the work is carried out on the "leading" device. (it turns out like two motherboards for one PC)

What exactly is the job?
It should be understood that the transfer of data from one processor to another processor will take such time that for most types of work the time losses will be an order of magnitude greater.
It is possible to parallelize some processes, but run it as a single operating system - you don't want such a hassle.
