In the news, when entering the date, it is necessary to indicate - year, month, day.

In my case, such an exact date is inappropriate, but you need to specify, for example, like this - March, 2015
Is it possible to change the date format in a similar way? And if so, how?

In the admin panel, in the fields of the "date" type, you cannot change it, you simply indicate the first day of the month, and already in the public part, display only the month with the year.
Or make two holy drop-down lists - months and years (some interval of years)
