Is it possible to brute force (RAR, SSH, FTP) without using a dictionary?

Is there such software for password selection (WPA2, SSH, FTP) that does not use a dictionary, but selects it by itself according to a given number of characters?
PS I know that there are hydra and similar programs, but they use a dictionary.
