Is it possible to block a country?
I came across a guide on steam that can be used to block countries using a firewall, PowerShell script and IP from the IPdeny website . How will this work (at least within the framework of an online game), and are there other ways to block countries?

In games in which all data is transmitted only through servers - no way, but most of them are.
The server can block in any way, including by geolocation. Or do you mean yourself, the client? No way, you communicate with the server and you can’t dictate anything to him :)
Here, most likely, we are talking about Valve products, in which the connection to the servers is
made with the
connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx (ip : port) command
course of not being able to connect to certain IP blocks and will persist in trying to connect to servers in the countries CLOSEST to you (least latency in data transfer).
+ all resources that have servers exclusively in these countries will not be available to you.
