Is it possible to be a Java Web Developer without knowing Java Script?

Hello!
I wanted to know if it is possible to write web services without knowing Java Script! Since I really like Java as a language, there is also Python, C ++, working with SQL and No SQL and, in general, a side server. But I don't like Java Script at all!
Is it worth spending time learning such frame-works as Spring, Django (python) without knowledge of Java Script?
Is Java Script needed in the mobile sphere?

Java Backend Developer'om can. You need to know the basics of JS, not the fact that you will write on it, but you should have an idea of \u200b\u200bhow the whole thing works on the client. Of the frameworks, you also need to have a simple idea of \u200b\u200btheir architecture, who works with the data that you give to the front. Know what is Ajax, Json, REST, WebSocket, i.e. interaction with the front.
You can write all sorts of web services for yourself, use SOAP and never hear about the front, integrating different systems and drowning in xml.
Your question is about specialization vs universality. And there are pluses and demand in the market, and there. It all depends on the size of the company and the tasks that it faces. In large companies, where there are many developers, heavy workloads, complex tasks, integration between systems, then backender and frontender are possible there - these are different people with different areas of responsibility. It is cheaper for small firms with small tasks to have a full stack of developers.
If you really don't like the front, then become a back specialist. It is a specialist who can solve narrow complex tasks that are beyond the control of most full stackers. For example, such difficult things as low-level optimization.
It would also be nice (since the backend only) to deal with the work, configuring the working environment - web servers, database features.

No, you can't be a back-end developer and not know anything about the front
-end. You rarely need JS on Android

If you are going to make money yourself, then no.
And if you work for "Uncle", then it's easy.
But how to write web services and be a Web developer is a little colliding.
Only web services are more of a Java Backend Developer.

The more you know and can do, the more advantages you have over your peers in the labor market. I think you will draw your own conclusions.
