Is it possible to assemble one from two HDDs?

There are two identical HGST Z5K500-500 hard drives.
One is detected, but knocks its heads, the second is not detected.
If you rearrange the board from the one that knocks to the second one, which is not detected, is there a chance that the disk will work?
The situation is similar with some other disks from different manufacturers, I'm interested in the possibility of their partial repair.

Replacing the controller is quite practiced in repairing disks, try it.

The level of responses of housewives mailru, Spanish shame experienced. On the case - most likely it will not start because each disk has a unique distribution of broken / service blocks, respectively, this information is stored on the board. Previously, when replacing the controller, it was necessary to transplant a square microcircuit in which these adaptives are stored.

I will upset you, but after you open the railway, the probability that it will work tends to zero

You can try
It's not a fact that after that there will be a working disk, most likely there were two dead disks and there will be two even more dead ones :)

You won't know until you try
. In general, the boards on many disks are changed elementarily with a screwdriver.

On old disks, this happened, somewhere before the 2010-2012 release, but on newer ones it most likely will not work. For Linux, there is a utility that works with the railway, you can start / stop the engine with commands and something else. I don't remember the name, but I couldn't do anything with it either. But it will not be worse if the board is changed.

Simply swapping the board won't work.
You also need to transfer either the ROM chip or its contents from the unrecognized hard drive card to the clicker card.
But why the first HDD is not detected is also a question, so we need to look further into the situation.

with some other drives from different manufacturers, I'm interested in the possibility of their partial repair

Depends on the type of fault, manufacturer, and model. With old drives, replacing the board may work, but the question arises as to whether you now even need a hard drive of this capacity, moreover, with unclear prospects for sudden failure.
If you want to clarify, you can write more to us on the forum , in telegrams , or through other contacts (social networks, etc.) that I have in my profile .
