I need to orient the robot in the area, of course, there is hc-sr04, but I want another.
I could not find information on how to assemble a radar, or at least buy a similar module
. I need to make a full-fledged 2D map, just like in some games. Not all 360 degrees, at least scan what is ahead.
Very desirable, without any moving parts (like a distance sensor hung on a servo)

What distances are we talking about? Make a lidar. You can look at the implementation in neato vacuum cleaners. There is a laser module and a ccd ruler under the lens. The laser is set at a slight angle and fixed together with the camera. The farther the object is, the more to the right in the frame the point from the laser will be. To make it easier to find it, you can modulate the signal.
For this task, it is highly desirable to take an infrared laser. it is much safer for the eyes.
