Is it possible to add data to pdf from python?

Recently I encountered such a problem: you need to redirect the user to a pdf file by clicking a button on the site. Initially, this file is stored in docx format. You can add any information to docx using curly braces: {{ test }} and you can write any information to the test variable in python code. Is it possible to do this with a pdf file, since converting docx to pdf takes a lot of time.

I would be very grateful to any source of information that can help to understand.
