Is it possible to add custom mime type in Android ?

Is it possible to add custom mime type in android?

After MIUI firmware, flv files are no longer recognized as video files in the system.

When I try to open an flv file, a menu pops up:

Is it possible to somehow register my mime type, so that later flv files can be opened in Mobo-Player?

With help, you need to dig towards the intent filter. See developer.android.com/guide/topics/intents/intents-filters.html

In MX Video Player in the settings there is such an item "Extensions", there is flv. After that, it becomes the standard player for this format. I highly recommend this player, it is the best of those that I have tried. In my opinion, it is much better than Mobo.

Native fm miui will not understand, it somehow has everything in its own way ... but in general, I personally got used to opening all video files through the player
