Is it possible to add arbitrary names of non-existent computers to Active Directory?

There is a client application in which to connect to a SQL database, you need to manually enter the IP address of the database, its name, login and password, which is not very convenient ...
Also in the IP address input line, the application has a pop-up menu in which the names of the servers that it apparently pulls up from the Active Directory, and so, is it possible to add your names to the Active Directory in the form of IP addresses, so that the program pulls them up?
The self-made application has no name, I am not the author ...

If you have access to AD and you can make changes to the client code, then you can simply create a new OU in AD of the VirtualIP type, add machines like PC19216801 to it and indicate your IP in the description:
As for "pulling up", I'm not sure what it takes from AD, usually DB " glow" on their port, and the software will be able to scan the default network for available databases, so maybe you are trying to solve a problem that you do not fully understand, in any case, you need more details

And this one - ljghgHJGj8797gj - no problem!
Usually - without a difference, IP to enter or a name of a computer with this IP.
Do you know the name of the required computer?
Is this computer on the list with the correct IP?
Have you tried selecting it?

@Proxopotamus

try adding a computer with the desired name to ad, for example server and register it in dns (wins if necessary)
