Is it possible for a doctor to become a programmer?

Good afternoon! I am 33 years old and am a doctor. I always wanted to program, but life is a complicated thing, therefore, in fact, I am engaged in an unloved thing. Family, work take up almost all free time, but I really want the work to bring pleasure and material satisfaction (which is also important for the family). I graduated from Java SE courses, independently studied Delphi, Python, a little C. But I didn’t go beyond educational projects and my own fantasies such as simple games. I understand that entering a profession with an education very far from the profile, and with my age, will raise quite a few questions.
I wanted to try freelancing, but it's mostly web programming, and freelancing seems to me not the best place to start a career.
I like the development of desktop applications, databases, possibly medical software (but it's a very specific niche - I found little information on the Internet), Android development.
What do you advise, dear? Or give up this idea completely, or there are still similar examples of people who decided to become programmers at the age of "over 30". Or maybe there is some specific software development niche where my experience as a doctor can come in handy (unfortunately, I myself did not find anything similar)? Thanks in advance for your replies.

What's the problem with just looking for jobs and being like an interview?
It makes sense for you to look for companies that develop something medical - in case work experience comes in handy.
And so - just try to go through a few interviews (at least 3-5) and the questions will disappear by themselves.

Doctor?
Those who study for 6 years, and then internship, residency ....
So many years spent.
You just let the cat down the drain for years.
Which does not characterize you as a person who effectively manages his time.
Is it possible for such a person to become a programmer?
Well, yes, you can.
Low-skilled - easily.
But there are not those salaries about which you have heard a lot.
Becoming an IT pro with a six-figure dollar income a year - I don't think so.

On Delphi you can make real Desktop-systems for business. This is exactly what he was created for.
PS: Just think what would happen if all doctors became programmers...

As mentioned above, try to find at the intersection of professions, there are departments in hospitals and it. Medical institutions are switching to electronic systems, writing software there is not rewriting. And in general, 30 years is just the beginning, if you have passed the medical faculty and you are interested in programming, then success will not be long in coming, and L.D. Landau said well about the business of life: "There is no point in wasting time on something that is not interesting , and does not bring pleasure. "(He said this to a theoretical physicist who wanted to become a doctor (he succeeded in it)) Good luck)
