A better alternative is to use grid + flex for positioning.
For buttons, selects and other things - there are many similar frameworks for different styles - here you already need to look at their intended purpose.
It all depends on the project, on skills and on the necessary adaptability (rubber layout for 4k often doesn’t look very good, for example).
