But hosting seemed expensive compared to competitors. And the reviews on their hosting are not the best.
Will it be possible to buy hosting elsewhere and how critical it may be for the future operation of the site.

As for hosting - it all depends on the tasks. The same hosting can be ideal and inexpensive for some tasks, and completely unacceptable and terribly expensive for other tasks.
