This rule is necessary in order to make the code easier to read (so that you don’t have to use horizontal scrolling, and vertical is enough). I looked at the code - and everything is clear.
There is no other reason to follow this rule. I try to stick to this rule for html as well, doing line breaks in case of a lot of attributes.
