Is it legal to sell a company a domain containing its name?
There is a company that posted a link to the site in its VK group (10 thousand subscribers), but the domain itself was not registered. I wrote to them a month ago. There was no answer to this. Now I have registered a domain in my name and maybe in the future (when they come to their senses) they will sell it. How legal is this action and for what price would you advise to sell it?
P.S. Well, the company itself is called in one word, and the domain comes with a region number. Does this count as a match with TM? Well, taking it through the court is more problematic and financially costly.
P.S. Well, this is just for curiosity. Can I place some kind of incorrect photo in the background (for example, 18+) What would motivate them to buy soon?))

Any price you can agree on, at least a couple of million, the action is quite legal, but if the company has its own registered trademark and the domain name matches it, then they can take it away for free through the court.
You can’t, because you didn’t buy it :) But you can resell the right to lease a domain name , for which you actually paid money :) This action is legal, but as it was rightly noted here, if there is a trademark, they can simply be taken away by the court. For free :)
And so - the cost will depend only on their desire to purchase it, and also on how "sonorous" it is. For example, a 4-letter domain is even clumsy, you can sell well, and even a domain with a normal combination of vowels and consonants is even more meaningless. There is no upper bar here, you can bend as much as you want :)
If the company is called in one word, and the region is substituted in the domain. That is not a coincidence with the LLC of the company. But in Russia, this domain can also be taken away from you.
But I think it’s not worth attracting attention to speed up, because they can be regarded as damaging the company’s reputation.
