Is it legal to repost a YouTube video on my app?

Am I breaking the law or App Store policies if I download a publicly posted youtube video and post it on my app with a link to the original video's youtube channel?

If you are a resident of the Russian Federation and want to benefit from this, then it is better to ask the author and even better in writing and be sure to indicate the source. If this does not bring any commercial benefit, then it is possible without permission and if there are no watermarks or logos on the video.

The author has the right to sue even if you have provided a link to it.
Put yourself in the place of the author. Someone took the video and downloaded it with a link to me. And I asked or allowed to put a link to me? Did I allow my video to be downloaded and used?
If you do not want problems, do not be lazy, always contact and ask permission directly from the author. If you spit once, you can regret it very much later in court.

Videos on YouTube are hosted under the appropriate licenses. Therefore, there is nothing to guess, it is necessary to read them.
