Is it ethical to ask for a different development team (within the same firm)?
I've been working at my current job for a little over a month. We have several development teams. They took me to one team, but I would like to move to another, since there is more interesting functionality for me. The leader of the team where I want to go praised my code, in addition, they now need a developer to join his team.
Is it ethical to ask them?

if we take not even a firm, but a larger company, then I think everything will be written down from the principles and practices in a particular organization: it happens that managers are extremely painful about hunting employees from one department to another. In my opinion, the question here lies not in the plane of ethics, but your morality. Because one leader hired you and he actually took the risks of your appointment and possibly counted on something. Of course, you can talk, but before that, find out if your leaders are friends.
This is normal practice, talk to your manager about wanting to transfer and see if you're a good fit for that team. If both leaders answer positively, then everything is ok.

What is the issue of ethics here?
Well, let's say you worked on the project for a long time - and after your departure it will collapse .... But no.
Quite ethical.
