Is it difficult for a novice student-programmer to get a job in a big city?

Well, the topic is quite demotivating, which I read here .
Text from the article:
How many people today find work in IT? When Lyulka blabbed that they had trained as many as 70 people at BrainBasket (but then there was noise all over the country), of which only 24 found work, no one paid attention to this. But in vain. Maybe the selective attention of the psyche of a naive layman is to blame for everything, who takes out of context only what he likes to look at - yesterday's miner has become a front-end worker and is chopping cabbage; a student won a hackathon and left to work at Google; the guys created a startup and sold themselves in the USA; etc. Yes, and these guys, who call themselves CEOs and co-founders, now and then broadcast noodles from Facebook and corrupt media about space galleys that will surf the vast expanses, which means it’s up to you to sign up for courses.
Total competition: 20 people per seat
On the same graph, you can clearly see how the number of newcomers' responses to vacancies has increased over the past couple of years:

After all, you believe in yourself, I'm not like that at all, I'll get out and after my studies I can do it, because I'm an excellent student, nerd, damn it. I'm not like some people write: "Is javascript necessary for ... (is an egg necessary for a chicken to appear?)
