Is it correct to copy the API?
The very first API that I met and that I studied well was the VK API. I really like it (not perfect, but good), comfortable enough.
Now I have started creating the API of my service. To what extent would it be correct/legal to copy the API model? Not exactly, of course, but very similar.

In Telegram, the API is built in a similar way, the only question is whether it will suit you. Maybe you need some serious stuff like GraphQL, or basic RESTFull. But there is nothing wrong with imitation if, for example, your service will be used by people who are already familiar with the VKontakte API.
It's against the law. Stop immediately and erase everything!
Do you have a passport?
If you look globally, then these are rises with the law, since the same oracle is suing Google for copying Java API
