Is it correct to copy a working luks cryptocontainer?

There is a file cryptocontainer luks. It contains a database with active writing and reading. Is it correct to copy the container file as a daily backup and not slow down the database daemon.

Could it be that the file will be broken in this case.

It will almost certainly be broken.
And slowing down the DBMS may not even be enough. It is possible to guarantee "brokenness" only when unmounting.
  • stopped the DBMS
  • unmounted the container
  • made a backup
  • mounted container
  • raised the DBMS

In other cases, you get a Schrödinger backup. :)
Well, or the correct method : to make a backup using the DBMS, without stopping. You can backup to another mounted cryptocontainer.
