Is it acceptable to apply grid classes from css frameworks to semantic html tags?

I decided to try foundation 6.
Using the flexbox grid that the framework provides as an alternative to the box grid, I
wrote a simple example
where I applied these classes directly to ul and li tags.
Is it possible to do so?
If not, then please correct this small example.
