Is Habr interested in the efficiency test of antivirus products?
For personal purposes of choosing an antivirus, I analyzed 2500 virustotal virus results from 1/1/2010 (links that I found through search engines; and of these, only those where at least 8 engines recognized the file as a virus). Based on these links, I built a table of detection quality for different anti-virus engines - more precisely, it turns out - a rating for the speed of adding virus definitions to their databases.
Will the material with the results be of interest to the habrapublic? Or not to be dishonored by “gag without a technique” and not to compete with monsters like Anti-Malware.ru?

Personally, I would be interested in an article, although I am far from this topic.
I really don't understand the meaning of these questions. If you personally are interested in some topic, go ahead, try it and share the results. There will ALWAYS be people who will benefit from your material.
Please explain what was the assessment method? Just so you understand: when a file is sent to VirusTotal, if the sample is not detected, it is sent to all member virlabs.
Plus - "detection" can sometimes be for malware:
1) signature base ("full-fledged detection");
2) heuristics or cloud technology (not an indicator of the quality of an antivirus, but an indicator of heuristics);
3) on the packer / code protector (generally a controversial result).
Hence - if we compare the detection according to item 1 - this is one thing, according to item 2 - another. Moreover, the response can often be false - a living example: any keygen packaged by the author of the stolen Themida, so that competing cracker groups do not steal the generation algorithm, will cause a "rack" of most antiviruses, since the same stolen Themida packs malware, and antivirus cannot unpack - in total, everyone is rowed with one comb. how to evaluate such a detection?
Of course, your work deserves praise like any serious approach to choosing a software (and not only) product, but be prepared for serious criticism.
to be honest, I only look at tests on Anti-Malware.ru - an independent information and analytical center
