Is h1 indexed?

Good afternoon! It's not very nice to look at h1 at the top of the site and I have 2 questions for you, only I need to know for sure:
1) Can I set display: none in css, search engines will see h1?
2) If h1 is not at the very top of the page, but below, will it be normal for search engines? well indexed?
