If Opencart is difficult, then try WP+Woocomerce. Other options where

create an online store with a minimum of investments, including for the services of programmers and third-party services, that is, it is desirable to launch the main functionality on your own
I don’t really see that wp has at least a large and not very toxic community, you will find answers to questions.

WP is rubbish. Opencart can be finished to any state. You just need to know the language and understand MVC a little. If there was already an opencart, then I recommend staying on it. What was difficult was given - pull it up quickly.

You can consider Horosop, you will not have problems setting up the store and they will help you transfer from Opencart. You can see about the migration yourself: https://horoshop.ua/migration/

Judging by the phrase "options are displayed terribly" - so don't even be friends with CSS.
Hence the conclusion "with a minimum of investments, including for the services of programmers" will not work.
If you take free CMS, you will have to pay for the modules and for the programmers who will finish these modules and for the services of layout designers. I know cases when especially cunning progers run for 100-200 thousand rubles. for the site on Opencart while admitting that they collect sites essentially from "guan and sticks".
As practice shows, in the end it turns out cheaper to take an honest commercial CMS, immediately with a good design and all the necessary functionality out of the box. For example CS-Cart or 5CMS

Yes, it will run. But it is unlikely that you will be able to load it normally, most likely the processor will be a "bottleneck".
