Zabbix

Is Grafana really needed for Zabbix?

As I understand it, zabbix itself is an integral unit. that can live its own life. Why do people deliver Grafana over it? Just to make visualization of vskih graphs / metrics, etc. more convenient? And does it make sense to distribute grafana to a separate server, or is it not loaded by the server and can be put on one with zabbix?

Grafana beautifully visualizes data, more beautiful than Zabbix. It makes no sense to take out, the client (browser) loads the grafana, not the server.

Yes - to make dashboards more beautiful. In general, Zabbix can work on its own.
As always, the answer is "depends". From the number of Grafana users, from the server capacity, etc.

The main functionality for which I use grafana is the visualization of the same type of metrics from a large number of servers. In a boxed zabbix, this can be done through "Lastest data", but this is extremely inconvenient. In grafana, you can make drop-down lists of the necessary servers, metrics, etc. in the dashboard - much more convenient.
