Is FreeBSD better for serving lots of small files over Linux distributions?
I would not like to breed holivars, because it goes without saying that a lot depends on optimizing the system for a particular task, but still my friend says:
Due to the fact that the FreeBSD kernel is better optimized for processing blocking system calls, this distribution is more optimal for distributing a large number of small files from nvme (ssd) through nginx 1.14 and will help to significantly save on hardware resources.
Thanks for your reasoned opinion.

I remember 8 years ago we tested this. Only on simple sata ssds.
Of course, no one wrote the article, but the conclusions were quite obvious. Tested:
- Freebsd on ufs
- Freebsd on zfs
- Gentoo on ext4
- Gentoo on xfs
As a result - Freebsd on zfs bypassed everyone pretty much. Well, ram was used very well.
But now zfs is in linux and I would not resurrect Freebsd.
