Is anyone interested in an article about cross-platform development on .NET and Mono?

Colleagues, I have an interesting experience in developing, testing and deploying a web application using .NET 3.5/Mono 2.8.1/Flex, you can highlight the following questions:

  • Setting up projects in the IDE: VS 2008/ IDEA 9.x / MonoDevelop 2.4
  • Configuration management - debug, staging, production
  • Semi-automatic deployment
  • Deployment and basic configuration of the mono 2.8.1, mod_mono, apache2, nginx bundle under Ubuntu

If there are enough interested people, I will write a detailed article.

I will be interested, because I just started to figure out what is there, how and why and how to write cross-platform applications

Very interesting, only yesterday I was compiling mono 2.8.1 all night (I didn’t find any packages for debian / buntu, those that didn’t want to work with linq in turnips), tomorrow I’ll build the last monodevelop, then I was going to figure out how to run this economy under nginx without apache.
I am especially interested in what pitfalls can be when transferring both projects (web) and assemblies back and forth (first of all, assemblies from mono / Linux to no / you know that - will it be enough to avoid some libs and follow some rules (naming ways?, linefeed encoding?), so that the application is guaranteed to start or is it necessary to test)

Pffff… Well, I've had a hard time with GTK#. And with porting to the apple tree even more. By the way, there is not a single #ifdef in the code. The platform is detected at the start, the main paths to directories are thrown into global variables and off we go.
And it will be interesting to read, the topic is close and interesting to me.
